I originally picked this book up as an impulse buy, at the checkstand of Central Market in Poulsbo WA. I grabbed it primarily because the author was local (Bainbridge Island) and it had a dog on the cover. After reading it, I was simply in awe. I cannot emphasize enough how much my life was positively affected by the content of this book. I have purchased copies and forwarded them to every member of my family and a number of friends, whom all share my feelings. If you have ever read "The Celestine Prophecy" and really felt you understood what the author was trying to say...then you are going to treasure this book. So powerful that it still evokes tearful but happy sentiments every time I re-read it, and I am amazed that each time I never fail to catch something that I must have missed before...the more I read it , the more I really understand. Buy it, you will not regret your purchase...absolutely!

This is a very provacative read. I found the wisdom to be insightful, inspiring, clever, thought provoking and witty. In the beginning of the book I found that Dog's owner had some resistance to their new relationship of conversing with eachother which had an impact on me as the reader. I wasn't as open to the information in the beginning but when Dog's owner relaxed into the dialogue with his Dog, I did too. I found the book rich with much depth and character. I think the topics the author covers are at the core of the human experience. Subjects that are known to all of us and often not addressed in our everyday relationships. Many opinions DOG gives seem simplistic and at the same time challenging, or not the normal way most humans think and interact in relationship. After pondering the dialogue and the points brought up such as power, love and death i felt inspired, hopeful and lighter. A greater sense of freedom and understanding of myself and others. I highly recommend this book and applaud John Wood for his courage to be open and share his wisdom. I will be sending it to friends and reading it again.

This was an easy to read book. Written in laymans terms and in a light manner but covering relationships and their complexities. Filled with insightful examples of different ways we communicate and interact with each other. Just a wonderfully smart dog, you will not be able to put it away.
