A User's Manual for Living in the World by Dr. George Constantinidis Ph.D. is a must read for anyone searching for a frank and honest perspective on modern living. His willingness to tackle head-on facets of modernity in clear and easy to understand language is a hallmark to his deep understanding of his subject matter. Void of lofty language this is a book readable by anyone from the high-school student to the corporate CEO. Dr. Constantinidis uses the following as a foundational understanding throughout the book, "Real freedom and empowerment come from the ability and willingness to always consider another point of view, a different perspective or metaphor, from the one commonly held -- by yourself, or by your social milieu" (204). His willingness to present a different perspective on topics ranging from discrimination, relationships, spirituality, sexuality and others then what is commonly held by the "mainstream" marketplace offers the readers an opportunity to construct a new image. An image of a holistic being and community where all aspects of human life are seen as interwoven and interrelated, instead of the compartmentalized, specialized and sanitized chaos we call life today. I highly recommend reading this book.
